Amanda Demler, LMFT

Psychotherapist
CA
Hello there! I am a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist. I received my MA in Clinical Psychology from Pepperdine University, Malibu, and my BA in Liberal Studies with a Minor in Psychology from Concordia University, Irvine. I started my clinical hours as a personal counselor for high school students; from there, I entered the world of residential treatment counseling teens with eating disorders. My following positions as a primary therapist enabled me to gain extensive experience working with substance abuse and various mental health diagnoses including mood disorders, personality disorders, psychotic disorders, PTSD, and eating disorders. I have extensive experience facilitating groups on multiple topics such as Process groups, Coping Skills, CBT and DBT interventions, Family Dynamics, Relationship Skills Building, and Substance Abuse Issues. I have also enjoyed working with many walks of life, including a broad age range, ethnicities, religions, and the LGBTQ community. I am grateful each day for my decision to enter the field of mental health. I have helped teens, adults, and their families make strides in their abilities to communicate openly and enjoy life again. I believe in meeting you where you are at and will be the validating person to remind you that you are valued and matter. I have been told I am professional yet very approachable and will bring a unique sense of humor to our sessions.
