Getting to know Amanda Ellison

I am a mental health counselor licensed in New York with about 10 years of experience working as a therapist and life coach. I hold a Master's degree in Mental Health Counseling from the University of Massachusetts. Additionally, I bring nearly 20 years of law enforcement experience to my practice. I have worked with clients facing a wide range of concerns, including depression, anxiety, attachment issues, substance abuse, anger management, domestic violence, and sexual addictions. I have also supported individuals who have experienced trauma, including first responder traumas, and have helped victims of sexual, physical, and emotional abuse.

What should a new client know about working with you?

My therapy style is warm and engaging. I believe in treating anyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion, and I don't believe in stigmatizing labels. I follow the Good Lives Model and believe that our life goals can be achieved in healthy ways. I also use cognitive behavioral therapy to help overcome barriers to success.
