Getting to know Amanda Feiner

My mission is to help promote healing from within, as well as provide emotional support and encourage behavioral change. As humans, we can get stuck in the past or future. As a truly empathetic, genuine, and nonjudgmental clinician, I offer a safe environment to explore and process the nature of your issues that may be keeping you in a state of suffering. I hold a Master’s degree in Community Counseling from Argosy University, Chicago. I have experience working with children, adults, couples, and families. I am trained in techniques effective for mood disorders, emotional disturbances, family conflict, behavioral challenges, anxiety, and many other issues affecting your everyday life. I have a special interest in trauma, sexual abuse issues, and PTSD. Using Trauma-Focused CBT, I help clients acknowledge experienced trauma without the negative symptoms attached. I accept multiple insurance plans and will work with you to find an appointment time that fits your schedule.

What should a new client know about working with you?

Our first session will be an intake session in which I will gather your background information, and current concerns, provide you with a diagnosis, and formulate your personal treatment goals. In the second session, you will be provided with a psychoeducational segment and will be front-loaded with coping skills that we will continue to utilize going forth. It is my goal that with every session you begin to feel increasingly stronger, feel supported, and work towards improved daily functioning.

More information on payments and coverage

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.
