Getting to know Amanda Gaddis

Hi there, I'm Amanda! My name is Amanda Gaddis, and I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. I believe in a strength-based approach to solving problems, renewing hope, and building new skills. Everyone can benefit from feeling seen, heard, and understood, and finding a therapist you can connect with is an integral part of the therapeutic process. My approach is individualized to the needs of each client. I specialize in attachment-based approaches to support trauma and complex trauma, as well as relationship difficulties and family conflicts. I also utilize Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy and Solution-Focused Therapy to help identify steps to create change and challenge negative thought patterns, allowing clients to build self-esteem and find joy and meaning in their lives. I have experience with ADHD, anxiety, depression, PTSD, trauma, divorce, grief, addiction, parenting, teens and adolescents, and more. I strive to provide a relaxed, comfortable environment. I believe humor is healing and that clients are the true experts on themselves. I focus on approaches that are realistic and most likely to be applied in daily life. It is crucial that clients feel understood to feel motivated to make changes toward a healthier, happier life. I grew up in an environment of poverty and directly experienced the impacts of substance abuse, neglect, domestic violence, incarceration, grief and loss, and other challenges. As an adult, I recognized that therapy could have been life-changing for me as a child and the true power of feeling connected, supported, seen, and heard. I believe it is brave and takes strength to ask for help, and I want to help create a world where mental health is seen as just as important as physical health.
