Psychotherapist
GA
Hi there, I'm Amanda! Hi! I'm Amanda and I am a licensed professional counselor with experience working with ADHD, addictions, and trauma. I believe everyone has what they need inside to heal. Taking the step to reach out is brave; paired with my resources, I know we could make a great team on your healing path. My approach I am trained in EMDR and ketamine-assisted therapy. I also pursued additional certification for ADHD. I believe in skill/tool-building approach to mental health and I am comfortable incorporating breath work, meditation, art expression, and other forms of subconscious work to get clients unstuck. I love working with clients in various steps of recovery: whether they're taking the first step or need a refresher. My focus I offer virtual sessions for those working on depression, anxiety, intrusive thoughts, negative self-talk, trauma, spirituality, and identity issues. My communication style Similar to tough love, I believe in being honest with clients in a compassionate way. Because I am an unbiased party in your life, I believe in building a therapeutic relationship where you feel comfortable sharing when something isn't working and feel productive after each session. My journey to mental healthcare I remember a sense of wonder since I was a child; utter curiosity around the idea of other people living lives outside of my interactions with them. I originally sought out being a therapist to work with grief clients when I signed up for graduate school. I had wonderful professors and mentors who saw my potential and love for human experience and helped guide me toward where I feel most honored working with clients on traumatic experiences, shame, and executive functioning. My goals for you I think it's important to partner with clients to bring resources to their identified goals. My first session with you During the first session, clients will get a feel for who I am as a therapist, we will discuss background and current goals.
