Amanda Mooney-Moss, LPC

Psychotherapist
2039 S Wheeler St, Jasper, TX
I have been working and counseling with children and families in a variety of settings for the last 20 years. I served as a certified school counselor for many years. I have been a fully credentialed Licensed Professional Counselor for the past 5 years. I have returned to the private practice setting and enjoy working with children, teens, and adults. My approach As a client-centered therapist, I believe that healing begins in a space of genuine connection, empathy, and unconditional positive regard. My role is not to direct or diagnose, but to walk alongside each client as they explore their inner world. I strive to create a warm, nonjudgmental environment where individuals feel safe to express themselves fully and authentically. By honoring each person’s unique experience and trusting in their innate capacity for growth, I support clients in discovering their own solutions, building self-awareness, and moving toward greater emotional well-being. I bring presence, compassion, and authenticity to every session, allowing the therapeutic relationship itself to be a catalyst for transformation. My focus My client's focus centers on creating a compassionate, empowering space for children and women navigating the challenges of anxiety, ADHD, grief, and stress. I approach each individual with deep respect for their lived experience, recognizing that healing looks different for everyone. With children, I integrate play-based and expressive techniques to help them process emotions and build self-regulation skills in developmentally appropriate ways. With women, I offer a supportive environment to explore identity, overwhelm, and emotional pain—often rooted in caregiving roles, trauma, or life transitions. Whether it's calming the chaos of ADHD, holding space for grief, or untangling the knots of anxiety, my goal is to help clients reconnect with their inner resilience and move toward greater clarity, confidence, and peace.
