Getting to know Amanda Smith

Hi there, I'm Amanda! Hi, I'm Amanda Smith, a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist. I earned my Master’s in Marriage and Family Therapy from Azusa Pacific University. I began my Marriage and Family Telehealth practice in California to use my life experience, education, and faith to serve the emotional and behavioral health needs of our community. Through experience in all treatment levels, I’ve found that building rapport through a supportive therapeutic relationship creates a safe space to work through difficulties, understand issues, learn coping skills, and develop fuller relationships to live more authentically. My approach Since everyone’s journey is different, not all treatment modalities work equally well. I have trained in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), Motivational Interviewing, Seeking Safety, and Superhero Therapy. My focus I believe in collaborating to create treatment goals and explore growth areas. I’m passionate about helping those struggling with eating disorders, depression, anxiety, relationship issues, and more. My communication style I believe in holistic therapy, considering mental, physical, and spiritual factors influencing well-being, aiming to help people heal and thrive deeply. Therapy should feel warm and safe to discuss all of life’s challenges. My journey to therapy In my youth, friends often trusted me with their problems and secrets. This sparked my passion for supporting people through their best and worst moments. My goals for you I believe therapy should be client-oriented, focusing on your goals rather than being therapist-led.
