Psychotherapist
TX
Hi there, I'm Amberlin! I have my M.A. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Liberty University and am licensed in the state of Texas as a Licensed Professional Counselor. I am in my second year of acquiring a Ph.D. in Psychology from Liberty University. I have worked in North Texas over the last few years in private practice groups and as a therapist and clinical director at a residential treatment facility for adolescents with substance abuse and mental health diagnoses. I am trained in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and have extensive experience treating trauma, anxiety, depression, and mood disorders. I have worked with adults, couples, and adolescents through various challenges of life and have a passion for continuing to serve this population. I believe that there is immense healing found in counseling as it provides a safe place for individuals to explore their unique journeys and reach their full potential. It takes courage to seek out a more fulfilling and happier life and to take the first steps toward change. I am here to support and empower you in that journey. My approach As a therapist, I utilize a combination of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Narrative Therapy to support my clients in their journey toward mental well-being. CBT forms the foundation, helping clients identify and challenge negative thought patterns while learning practical coping strategies. In parallel, DBT fosters emotional regulation, mindfulness, and interpersonal effectiveness to manage intense emotions and enhance relationships. Additionally, Narrative Therapy empowers clients to rewrite their life stories, externalizing problems and emphasizing their strengths and resilience. My focus I work with adults, adolescents, and couples. I am familiar with crisis counseling, trauma therapy, treating depression, anxiety, and many other mental health diagnoses.
