Hi there, I'm Amelia! My name is Amelia A. Alonso, and I am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. I enjoy working with all populations, from adults to children. I focus on providing my clients with a nonjudgmental, safe place. I utilize mindfulness and communication skills to help my clients thrive and improve interpersonal relationships. I am bilingual and open to doing sessions in Spanish. My approach I use various modalities in my practice, primarily CBT, DBT, and solution-focused therapy. My focus Much of my experience consists of clients suffering from anxiety and depression, along with high risk and PTSD. I enjoy seeing couples and doing play therapy with children of all ages. My journey to therapy I started my journey after graduate school doing my internship for Fresno Unified School District, where I gained great experience doing play therapy with children. Then I transitioned to Omega Mental Health, working with high-risk clients. As an associate, I worked for Alpha Behavior Counseling, which offered me the experience of working with trauma clients, couples, adults, and children. My goals for you Goal setting is based on the client's needs and should be done collaboratively, then often monitored as clients thrive and progress. I hold clients responsible for being aware of their progress by doing regular check-ins regarding their goals. My first session with you During the first session, I make my clients feel as comfortable as possible by being agreeable, explaining the therapeutic process, answering questions, and reviewing consents and expectations.
