Psychotherapist
MD
Hi there, I'm Amie! My name is Amie Kotz, and I am a licensed clinical professional counselor (LCPC) based in Washington County, MD, working with patients via telehealth. I hold a Master's in Counseling from Frostburg State University. I work with adolescents and adults who need assistance managing mental health symptoms to improve the quality of their lives. My approach to therapy is one from an overall wellness point of view. I enjoy working with patients who are struggling with anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, trauma, mood disorders, and more. I am well versed in CBT, DBT, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and many others. I enjoy working with adults and adolescents who want to improve their emotional and mental well-being. I create a warm and welcoming environment that is free from judgment. I encourage all patients to be honest, open, and motivated to become the best version of themselves. I started as a counselor in 2004 fresh out of graduate school. I focused on substance use disorders for many years and wanted to become more skilled in working with dual diagnosis patients. I now enjoy working with patients with many different diagnoses on their personal journey of wellness. I assist patients in identifying the areas of priority in their lives and encourage them to focus on small steps toward success. In our first session, you can expect the time and comfortability to share what is most important to you, allowing me to get to know you and help you on your journey to a better life.
