Psychotherapist
CA
Hi there, I'm Amy! My name is Amy Dinovo, and I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a Master’s in Social Work from the University of California, Los Angeles. I work to support clients in living authentically, particularly Trans and Gender Diverse folks. I strongly believe in and support every individual’s right to self-determination. My approach I generally describe my approach as eclectic and client-centered. In my 25 years of practice, I have yet to find one approach that works for everyone. I frequently utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy while collaborating with clients to determine their treatment goals and the best means of reaching them. My focus For the past 5 years, I have worked almost exclusively with Trans and Gender Diverse clients. Prior to that, I had a mixed clientele but have focused on supporting people exploring gender for a decade. This includes addressing depression, anxiety, familial strain, and increasing social support. My communication style I strive for my clients to feel heard and supported as they challenge themselves toward living as their authentic selves. My journey to mental healthcare I am a therapist and social worker with a strong sense of social justice. I believe people need to be supported in being safe, cared for, and themselves. Therapy is a tool toward this, and I have been honored to walk that path with a varied group of clients throughout my career. My goals for you By meeting each client where they are and determining small steps to reach their larger goals. My first session with you To have an opportunity to share your story, build rapport, and feel respected as we begin to determine your needs and goals.
