Amy Madden-Ray, LCSW

Psychotherapist
TN
Hi! My name is Amy Ray, and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker based just north of Nashville, Tennessee. I earned my Master’s in Social Work from the University of Tennessee and completed my Bachelor’s degree at the University of Memphis. I see clients throughout Tennessee via telehealth and also offer in-person sessions in my office about 30 minutes north of Nashville. I work with adolescents 14 and up and adults, using Emotionally Focused Therapy and Dialectical Behavior Therapy to help clients manage difficult emotions and live fulfilling lives. My approach I am versed in multiple intervention techniques but most often use Emotionally Focused and Dialectical Behavior Therapy to work through difficult emotions and build a strong therapeutic relationship where clients feel safe expressing themselves honestly. My focus My style and approach fit well with older adolescents and adults at various life stages. Having experienced many life stages myself and raising two teenagers/young adults, I relate to people of many ages. I help clients navigate life transitions and stress, as well as provide trauma-based therapy to address past issues holding them back from happiness today. My communication style I strive to create a welcoming and judgment-free environment. I use humor when appropriate and encourage clients to express themselves freely. My journey to mental healthcare I have always enjoyed being a therapist because I like talking to people on a deeper level than surface conversations. I never want anyone to feel like they have nobody to talk to about what’s bothering them. I have enjoyed my last 20 years providing counseling as an LCSW and would love to work with you. My goals for you When setting therapy goals, I let the client lead. Only you know what is most important, and I want to provide services that address your priorities.
