Amy Mandel, LMFT

Psychotherapist
CA
I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (#122139) and EMDR-trained provider, dedicated to providing genuine care to my patients. My expertise in mental health and cultural differences allows me to reach individuals from all walks of life. I take an integrated approach to treating a variety of mental health struggles. I earned my Master’s in Marriage and Family Therapy from Pepperdine University, which laid the foundation for my clinical skills and compassionate practice. My approach I am person-centered, meeting you with empathy, unconditional positive regard, and open-mindedness. My goal is to support you as we identify your needs and collaboratively develop a treatment plan to help you attain them. My focus I work with all types of people and am trauma-focused and EMDR-trained. I see each person as unique, perfectly imperfect, wanting to feel safe and connected. I am most comfortable treating individuals motivated to change their “one” life—whatever that looks like for them. My communication style The tone of our communication depends on where you are emotionally and your needs at the time. My style is genuine, honest, down-to-earth, personable, interactive (often with many questions), and direct—always tailored to you. My journey to mental healthcare What attracted me to therapy was realizing how one simple question can shift overwhelming feelings and mental pain. What drives me is increasing happiness and quality in our delicate lives, applying what I have learned through extensive education, personal study, over 3,000 intern hours, rigorous testing, and personal life experience—including pain, suffering, and loss. I believe my whole life trajectory led me to become a Licensed Therapist. It isn’t just a career or purpose—it is my life.
