Getting to know Amy McWilliams

Hello, I'm Amy. Do you feel like your mind is crowded and need a space to sort it out? Are you looking to find a judgment-free space to unpack your thoughts and worries? As a therapist, I have helped those with a growth mindset work on patterns and thoughts that are no longer serving them. I truly value the therapeutic relationship to help heal with a holistic approach-body, mind, and spirit. I use integrated systems theory tailored to your needs. I draw from a variety of modalities to treat symptoms, which could include mindfulness, cognitive behavioral therapy, and acceptance and commitment therapy. I am also a DBT-informed clinician but find that therapy really varies depending on the client. This is your journey! I earned my Master's in Social Work from the University of Georgia and my Bachelor's degree from Kennesaw State University. Whether you are feeling overwhelmed, anxious, or depressed, I would love to accompany you on a path of self-discovery and wellness. Vulnerability can be scary when seeking counseling. As your therapist, I promise to provide a safe and secure environment to grow and heal. I am looking forward to meeting you.

What should a new client know about working with you?

My hope is for my clients to take away a sense of hope and encouragement. It is also important to realize you are not alone and that mental health is just as important as physical health.

More information on payments and coverage

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.
