My name is Amy Nicolazzo, and I am a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor based in Ohio. I hold a Master of Education in Community Counseling from The University of Akron. Since 1997, I have been engaged in the mental health profession, developing proficiency with a variety of issues including depression, anxiety, stress, anger management, trauma, substance use, grief, and mood dysregulation, among others. I view therapy as a collaborative effort—a journey taken together. My approach Over my 27 years as a therapist, I have been influenced by many people and modalities. I believe all therapeutic approaches have value and incorporate elements from Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Acceptance & Commitment Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Psychodynamics, Internal Family Systems, Narrative Therapy, and more. I strive to match my approach to each client’s learning style rather than forcing a fit that doesn’t work. My focus I prefer working individually with adults. Therapy with children, adolescents, couples, and families requires specialized training that I have not pursued. My communication style The therapy relationship itself is paramount to me.
