Hi there, I'm Amy! I'm so glad you have decided to take this initial step to invest in yourself, which is usually the hardest thing to do. You deserve it and I'm here to help you through whatever your needs may be! I specialize in working with individuals going through various levels of transitions in their lives, anxiety, depression, loss, and trauma. I take a client-centered approach, tailoring each session to your focused needs with a safe, supportive, non-judgmental environment where you can be yourself. My approach I typically will use Cognitive behavioral therapy, however, every client is different. I also utilize solution-focused therapy. Every person is different, so what works with one patient may not work for the next. My focus Over my career, I have worked with all age groups. I understand how difficult opening up about anxiety, depression, loss, and trauma can be. I feel that I am able to work with all age groups and clients around all of their needs and concerns. I am culturally competent, well-versed in end-of-life issues as well as children/adolescent issues. I feel that whatever issue or goal the individual has, I will be able to assist them in developing and achieving it. My communication style I have clear, open communication to support an open, communicative, non-judgmental practice. I practice active listening and if you are going through something really challenging, I will be calm and patient to help you work through it. My journey to mental healthcare My journey began as a young girl wanting to help others. It continued from there when I was in college. I worked in Social Services for a few years,, then worked in nursing homes. I always enjoyed helping and listening to others. That was when I went back to get my master's so that I could finally get into therapy.
