Amy Ross, LMFT

Psychotherapist
CA
Hi there, I'm Amy! I have worked as a private practice therapist for 17 years and have a passion for the work I do. I also have experience in clinical, inpatient, and school settings. I adapt my approach to each client, tailoring it to their specific needs, values, and goals. I earned my Master’s in Psychology from Phillips Graduate University, which deepened my understanding of therapeutic practices and fueled my commitment to mental health. **My approach** My goal is to help clients navigate life’s challenges and transitions, specifically alleviating symptoms of depression and anxiety. I also focus on relationships—with others and with the self—using conventional and collaborative approaches such as CBT, IFS, and attachment therapy. **My focus** I am comfortable treating clients of all ages dealing with life transitions, anxiety, depression, relational issues, identity issues, and behavioral challenges. **My communication style** I aim to provide a comfortable and supportive virtual atmosphere where clients can openly confront issues, uncover their true selves, better manage emotions, and work toward their unique goals. I strive to create a relaxed space where clients feel safe and supported. **My journey to mental healthcare** How long do you have? Haha! I grew up as a perfectionistic overachiever and struggled with anxiety, depression, severe eating disorders, and more. I had a lot of unhelpful therapy in my youth and went to graduate school to better understand what therapists were trying to do. Since then, I have endured many challenges and benefited greatly from skilled mental health practitioners. I have a passion for helping people and paying it forward. **My goals for you** Goal setting is collaborative. I ask clients to identify their goals and, through discussion, offer ideas for smaller or more targeted goals to help them get where they want to be.
