Getting to know Amy Roth

I am a licensed Social Worker with 25 years of experience dedicated to helping children, teens, and adults navigate their mental health journey. I hold a Master’s in Social Work from Columbia University. My goal is to create a safe and compassionate environment where clients can explore their thoughts and feelings, gain insight into their behaviors, and develop effective coping strategies.

What should a new client know about working with you?

My approach to therapy integrates Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) and psychodynamic therapy principles. CBT helps clients identify and modify negative thought patterns and behaviors, promoting immediate coping strategies. Meanwhile, psychodynamic delves into the unconscious and past experiences to uncover and address deep seated emotional issues. This combination allows for both immediate symptom relief and long term emotional growth.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Clients can gain practical tools for managing their current issues and gain insight into underlying emotional patterns, fostering both immediate relief and long term personal growth.
