Andre Marseille, LPC

Psychotherapist
DC
Hello, I'm Dr. Andre Marseille. I completed my PhD in Counseling from George Mason University and am uniquely trained as both an existentialist and a positive psychotherapist. As one of only three certified positive psychotherapists in the United States, I integrate existential philosophy and multiculturalism into my therapeutic practice. My goal is to help individuals and communities find meaning and achieve life-balance in an increasingly globalized world. With my expertise in cross-cultural theory and certification in International Conflict Analysis and Resolution, I am committed to addressing the complexities of identity, culture, and psychological well-being. I hold a master's degree in Counseling Psychology from Howard University and a bachelor's degree in Psychology from Chicago State University. My work focuses on the intersection of existentialism, humanism, and multiculturalism, particularly in supporting minority and at-risk populations, as well as victims of crime. I am especially passionate about exploring the psychological impacts of globalization and climate change, and how these global forces affect mental health across diverse cultural contexts. I regularly share my research through presentations, training seminars, and international conferences, with notable engagements in countries such as Canada, Japan, India, Turkey, and Germany. Additionally, I serve on the editorial board for the Global Psychotherapist International Journal. Whether working with groups, couples, or individuals, I am driven by my commitment to helping others navigate the complexities of existence. My therapeutic approach is deeply rooted in positive psychotherapy's principles of human agency and meaning-making. Based in Chicago, Illinois, I am an avid reader, fiction writer, and marathon enthusiast. I enjoy exploring the intersections of culture and self both in my professional and personal life.
