Andréa is a member of the American Counseling Association and has several years of experience working with children, adolescents, adults, and families in a non-profit community-based setting.
During her time at the non-profit agency, Andréa served as a clinical supervisor for other clinicians and as a therapist for their intensive outpatient counseling program. She specializes in treating trauma, anger and conflict management, anxiety, stress-related disorders, depression, emotional distress, relational and behavioral issues, adjustment to life changes, grief and loss, and helping individuals navigate spiritual concerns.
Andréa's goal is to create a safe, open, and non-judgmental environment where individuals feel comfortable expressing themselves and working through difficult and complex issues. She uses a variety of strategies to engage individuals, couples, and families in treatment, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing, Solution-Focused, and family therapies. She believes in and facilitates a strength-based approach to treatment, helping individuals develop and recognize their personal strengths. When working with small children, she utilizes play therapy and encourages family involvement. Andréa is passionate about helping individuals gain greater insight and self-awareness and work toward meaningful changes to experience greater satisfaction in their lives.
