Getting to know Andrea Connell

Hello! I'm Andrea, and I've been an independently licensed social worker since 2010. Throughout my career, I've had the privilege of working with children and families in various settings, which has deeply enriched my practice. My journey has taken me through roles such as working with children in foster care and their foster, adoptive, and birth families, which has given me a solid foundation in trauma-informed care and interventions. Additionally, I've served as an early intervention home visitor and parent educator, supporting families and their children from birth to age 3. My experience also includes being a therapist in community mental health and a trainer and educator for adult learners within the child welfare system. In therapy, I strive to create a nonjudgmental and supportive space where you can feel safe to explore and achieve your personal goals. My approach is rooted in a person-centered, strengths-based perspective, and I am passionate about acknowledging systems of oppression and their impacts on individuals and families. I draw on cognitive-behavioral and trauma-informed concepts to guide our work together. I have a special passion for supporting parents during the postpartum period and working with children and families within the foster care system. However, I truly enjoy working with clients from all backgrounds and walks of life. Whether you're dealing with ADHD, anxiety, depression, family relationship issues, grief, life transitions, PTSD, or stress, I'm here to help.
