Getting to know Andrea Cordell Proper

Hello, my name is Andrea Cordell Proper, and I am an LCP in Frederick, MD. I believe the journey surrounding mental health is uniquely individual and deeply personal. I bring empathy, trust, understanding, and humor to each experience. I work with adolescents, adults, and couples. Areas of expertise include postpartum mood disorders, trauma, depression, anxiety, ADHD, and family/system conflict. I have a special interest in best practices for treating perinatal mood disorders and an integrative multicultural approach to perinatal mood disorders therapy and reproductive health. I earned my Master’s in Clinical Counseling from Hood College Graduate School. I have lectured and designed coursework to further education and awareness of best practices for treating postpartum mood disorders across diverse cultures and demographics. I have also been a guest speaker at various colleges and universities. Meeting people where they are, holding space, and allowing a safe and compassionate place to heal is my goal with every person.

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.
