Andressa Little, LMSW

Psychotherapist
TX
I’m interested in what brings you here, and what may be happening underneath it. I’m Andressa Little, a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) in Texas, providing virtual therapy for teens, adults, and couples under clinical supervision at The Harbor: Cypress Family Therapy. My clinical experience has spanned inpatient psychiatry, community mental health, and private practice. Across those settings, I’ve learned that what brings someone to therapy is often only part of the story. ANXIETY But underneath it might be a fear of disappointing people. RELATIONSHIP CONFLICT But perhaps you’ve spent years making yourself smaller to keep the peace. CONFIDENCE While quietly questioning whether you’re allowed to want what you want at all.

What should a new client know about working with you?

You don’t have to come to therapy with a diagnosis, a clear goal, or a perfect explanation of what’s wrong. You just need to know that something isn’t working anymore. I work especially well with people who are thoughtful and self-aware but still find themselves repeating patterns they understand intellectually but struggle to change. Rather than simply teaching coping skills or giving advice, I want to understand what is happening underneath the pattern—what you learned to do to feel safe, what you fear might happen if you respond differently, and what keeps pulling you back into familiar ways of thinking and relating. Our work will connect that deeper understanding to real change. I’ll help you notice the moments where your patterns show up and create more room to choose how you want to respond. I’m warm and curious, but I won’t simply tell you what you want to hear. If something is keeping you stuck, we’ll be willing to look at it honestly. You don’t need to become a different person. The goal is to become more able to live from a place that actually feels like you.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Therapy starts with understanding, not immediately trying to fix things. Early sessions are a chance for me to learn what brings you in, understand the patterns you’ve been experiencing, and get a sense of what you want to be different. We’ll look at both what is happening now and the experiences that may have shaped how you respond to yourself, others, and the world. As we continue, sessions may move between deeper exploration and practical work. We might slow down and examine a reaction that keeps repeating, challenge a belief that no longer fits, practice a new way of responding, or work through something that feels difficult to approach on your own. There isn’t a rigid formula for what every session should look like. The process evolves as you do. My role is to help you notice what you may not be able to see from inside the pattern, while giving you enough structure and practical support to actually do something different with what you discover.
