Andrew Simoni, LMFT

Psychotherapist
CA
Hi there! My name is Andrew Simoni. I am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT 147163) in the state of California. I earned my Master's in Counseling from Palo Alto University. I like therapy to be as simple and down-to-earth as possible when it can be. I believe in core principles that fuel our thoughts and behaviors, and that when these principles are neglected, maladaptive thoughts and behaviors can arise. My approach Outright, I think people would appreciate my calm and down-to-earth nature. In my studies, I was very drawn to Rogerian (person-centered, unconditional positive regard) and Adlerian (seeing the client as equal to the clinician in the therapeutic process) approaches. I also enjoy elements of Jungian, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, as well as Family Systems theory. I don't try to force a theory onto any one client but adapt my approach based on the client's personality and specific needs. I enjoy the use of metaphor and imagery in my practice. My focus I have worked with clients of all ages, from young children to older adults. In my behavioral role, I worked one-on-one with children and their families to reduce problematic behaviors and enhance their ability to thrive in daily life. One of my favorite groups to work with is young adults. This crucial transition phase between childhood and adulthood is key for developing worldview and identity. Young adults can engage in both playful and philosophical therapies, offering a wide range of modalities to explore and find what works best for them. That said, I believe this approach can work well with all ages. I am always happy to discuss if working with you would be appropriate. I have worked with a wide variety of diagnoses across different ages, including behavioral issues, trauma, PTSD, and ADHD. My communication style I always strive to engage clients with a warm, empathetic, calm, and respectful demeanor.
