Getting to know Angel Hiles
My name is Angel Hiles, and I am a licensed professional clinical counselor in Ohio and West Virginia. I specialize in trauma, relationships, ADHD, and behavioral challenges. I take a holistic approach that focuses on the whole person and all areas of health, striving to create a warm space that fosters hope and connection.
I earned my Associate's degree from The University of Akron, my Bachelor's degree from Malone University, and my Master's in Clinical Counseling and Applied Psychology from Malone University. My approach blends evidence-based and faith-based practices. I have extensive training in the neurobiology of trauma and anxiety, including 36 hours of Interpersonal Neurobiology, Relational Life Institute Level 1 training, certification as a Mindfulness-Informed Professional, Professional Skills Level 1 and 2 of Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT), Polyvagal Theory, and certification as a Safe and Sound Protocol Provider.
Most of my clients have a spiritual background, are motivated for therapy, and are ready for change. They want to learn about themselves and develop skills to create the lives they want. Some struggle with perfectionism, high stress, relationship issues, anxiety, ADHD, unwanted behaviors, grief, self-esteem, life transitions, or traumatic events.
Clients often tell me I'm easy to talk to and that they feel comfortable sharing without judgment. My goal is to create a warm atmosphere where sessions can be light and conversational, educational, encouraging, supportive, and sometimes challenging and uncomfortable when working through tougher issues-always when you're ready.
I knew I wanted to be a therapist in high school. My own unstable upbringing created many struggles, and I am deeply passionate about my work because I have personally healed from developmental trauma, ADHD, impulsivity, guilt, shame, relationship challenges, anxiety, and depression using the modalities and skills I teach.
