Hi there, I'm Angela! I am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with a Master's in Counseling from Argosy University. My goal is to provide you with tools to enhance the potential you already possess. My style is direct and encouraging while allowing you to choose your priority. My approach I often utilize attachment and narrative therapy as a base in all counseling while focusing on thoughts, feelings, and behavior (CBT) in the now. My focus I have experience working with children as young as 6 months through parent-child attunement therapy. I have trained in parent-child attachment therapy for children up to age 8 and use trauma-focused work to address child abuse, domestic violence, and other trauma. My communication style Clients appreciate that I empower them to make decisions and have autonomy in sessions, but I am direct. The goal is for you to make connections to issues and patterns on your own, though early on you may need support. My journey to therapy I've always wanted to help clients sort through the puzzle within them. I was often the peacekeeper in family and friends but did not shy from healthy conflict. Great mentors have guided me to becoming a licensed clinician. I learned that to help others, I had to do my own work first. My goals for you Goal setting is client-driven. If something could cause harm to you or others, I will add a goal. If other needs arise, like medical or medication evaluations, I will make referrals, which become goals. My first session with you Expect a session where I speak little and ask questions. It's about getting to know you and answering questions to ensure comfort.
