Getting to know Anjelica Joy

Anjelica Joy, LCPC, PMH-C, is a licensed clinical professional counselor and a certified perinatal mental health counselor. Anjelica creates a safe and comfortable space for clients to find their strengths during challenging times. By highlighting these strengths while increasing personal awareness, she guides clients on their journey and helps them become the people they want to be.
Anjelica earned a BS from Purdue University and an MA from Valparaiso University. Her experience includes counseling adolescents, teens, and adults in residential, inpatient, and outpatient community health settings. She also served as a phone volunteer helping callers in a variety of crisis situations.
In therapy, Anjelica works collaboratively with clients to identify areas for growth and formulate achievable goals. Her approaches include CBT, DBT, Mindfulness, Person-Centered Therapy, and she will often use humor when appropriate to enhance the therapeutic relationship. Anjelica is also clinically trained and certified to provide care to those with perinatal mood disorders through Postpartum Support International. This includes, but is not limited to, postpartum depression/anxiety/OCD, reproductive challenges, grief and loss, as well as general struggles in parenthood.
Anjelica is always learning and discovering different ways to help her clients achieve success. Her goal is to be the best possible therapist for each client's unique needs. Outside of the office, Anjelica enjoys walking her dog, trying new restaurants, checking out new walking trails, and spending quality time with her friends and family.
