Many people come to therapy when life stops making sense in the ways it used to. You may feel overwhelmed, disconnected, or unsure how to reconcile what you believe with what you are living. You may also be carrying a history of addiction, recovery, or relapse that feels tangled with shame, pressure, or expectations from your faith community. Wherever you find yourself, you do not have to sort it out alone. I work with adults who are navigating anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, and major life transitions. I also specialize in supporting clients with substance use concerns and long‑term recovery. My background as a licensed addiction specialist allows me to help clients understand the emotional, relational, and spiritual layers that often accompany addiction and healing. For clients who want it, I integrate Christian faith and spirituality into the work. Sometimes faith feels like a source of comfort. Sometimes it feels complicated or painful. Sometimes it feels like it has been used against you. I also hold a graduate‑level background in theological studies, which helps me support clients who are wrestling with questions about God, identity, belonging, and the role faith plays in their recovery. Wherever you are in your story, there is room for it here.

What should a new client know about working with you?

The therapeutic relationship matters deeply to me. I want you to feel safe enough to be honest about what hurts, what feels confusing, and what you are still trying to make sense of. We will move at a pace that feels right for you. In session, I tend to be calm and steady. You do not need to show up with the right words or a polished version of your story. If your relationship with faith feels complicated, you can say that. If recovery feels fragile, you can say that too. I will meet you where you are without judgment. I listen closely and reflect what I hear. At times I may offer an observation or a question that helps something shift. I will not push you into places you are not ready to go. But I also will not leave you stuck. When the moment is right, we will move through the hard parts together.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Our first session is simply a beginning. I want to understand what has been happening for you, how it has felt, and what you hope might change. If faith or recovery is part of your story, you can bring that in at your own pace. As we continue, our work will be conversational and collaborative. Some days we may explore long‑standing patterns or wounds. Other days we may focus on something more immediate, like managing cravings, navigating triggers, or responding differently to stress. If faith is important to you, we may look at how your beliefs support your healing or where they may need to be reframed. I may offer practices or reflections between sessions, but only if they feel manageable and meaningful. We will check in regularly about how therapy is feeling, because good work should grow with you.
