“Because of moving for work and life, I’ve had a lot of therapists. I also went to school that involved psychology and sociology. I’m not an expert, but I’ve seen a lot, understand a lot of various theories and practices, and feel I have a little authority as someone on the receiving end of counseling. I try to avoid rating and recommending people because it has to be sincere; it’s from that place that I feel more than appropriate, but imperative to recommend Anna. She is a lovely blend of amiable and real, patient and firm, allowing you to be emergent with thoughts and connecting your own dots while also willing to be direct depending on your needs. Above all, she cares, and that, too, is something people in this sphere often fail to be sincere at. In a field that requires a strong discipline in the professional while also having a good grasp of the interpersonal, I feel she has a natural talent. My first option when I moved here (VA) just did not work for me, and it took some effort to insist on finding someone else. Choosing Anna was somewhat blind and it was a blessing. I do not know what my life would look like now otherwise. To say again, not every therapist works for everyone. And yet I have a hard time imagining someone that Anna wouldn’t be perfect for.”
