Getting to know Anne King

Welcome. Are you feeling overwhelmed? Life can be a lot, and being human is a lot. Take a deep breath; you have already made the first step towards improving your mental health. My name is Annie, and I look forward to meeting you where you are and walking alongside you on your journey. I often hear from clients as they begin the work of counseling that they need to learn coping strategies. Usually, we already have coping strategies; it's just that they are no longer working, getting in the way, or making things worse. Learning new skills can help you be intentional rather than just reacting to whatever life throws at you. I have found Cognitive Behavioral Therapy helpful for individuals suffering from anxiety, depression, OCD, PTSD, and other common mental health issues. Together, we will examine your thoughts and make changes to the ones that are causing you distress. I am a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor in the state of Ohio. I have a Master of Arts in Counseling from Asbury Theological Seminary and a Bachelor's in Social Work from Morehead State University. I have been married to Kurt for almost 40 years. We have 4 amazing adult children and are navigating together the often bumpy intersection of faith and our wonderful LBGTQ kids.
