Psychotherapist
FL
Hi there, I'm Annette! My name is Annette Howard, and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker based in Florida, working remotely with clients in Florida and North Carolina via telehealth. I hold a Master's in Social Work and a Bachelor's degree from Grambling State University. I work with adults and specialize in stress, anxiety, and grief/loss, using techniques from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy to help my clients confront negative thoughts and start feeling better. My approach My approach to therapy varies based on each client's needs. I most often use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, as both modalities help me and the client build a shared understanding of the problem and allow us to work together to make progress toward their goals and journey path. My focus I have found that my approach and skills are a good fit for adults dealing with life transitions. This often shows up as anxiety, depression, stress, and relationship conflicts. I work to help my clients navigate these transition periods and build skills that allow them to feel better about themselves and develop a more positive self-image. My communication style I offer empathy, compassion, and active listening. I want my clients to feel comfortable talking with me about anything, and I pride myself on creating a judgment-free atmosphere. It is my goal to make you feel safe, validated, and accepted. My journey to therapy I decided to become a therapist because I have always wanted to help others. Whether through volunteer work in high school or being a dependable, trusted friend, I have always been easy to talk to and a good listener. I enjoy seeing individuals become the best version of themselves. My goals for you My approach to goal setting with clients is individualized and a process. It is all about working together to define what you want to accomplish in our time together.
