Getting to know Annie Bennett

My name is Annie Bennett, and I am an Ohio licensed clinical social worker and supervisor. I received my master’s degree from the University of Kentucky and then completed two years of conjoint marital and family therapy training. Although I have spent time in academia teaching in the graduate social work department at the University of Kentucky, most of my experience over the past thirty-plus years has been in the field of mental health, addiction, family systems, and general relationship issues. For ten years, I served as director for a long-term, residential, substance use program for women and their children twelve years old or younger in Cincinnati, OH. My therapy style is a combination of cognitive-behavioral, humanistic, and solution-focused. I have found it important to meet clients where they are and help them work toward where they want to be. I believe in transformation, which is why I am in this field. I made major life changes myself over thirty years ago with the help of therapy and support from my environment. It is work, and it is not easy, but most of the time, it is well worth the effort. The important thing to know is that we do not have to be alone with our problems. Working with others and witnessing their progress gives me great satisfaction. Having spent time on a sailboat, I like the following metaphor: "You can’t change the winds, but you can adjust your sails." I look forward to helping you achieve the quality of life you desire and deserve.
