Greetings, You have come to the place in your journey of life to recognize that there are potentially other ways to work through situations/problems/issues/circumstances. You made the decision to seek assistance by reaching out. I am so glad you did. My name is Annie, and I consider it a privilege to be considered as a prospective agent of change to assist you through this era of your life. My approach I describe my approach to helping clients as integrative. I draw from a variety of modalities to meet the individual therapeutic needs of the individual client. The most frequent modalities include but are not limited to Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Person-Centered Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Motivational Interviewing (MI), Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT), and Interpersonal Therapy (IPT). Based on faith-based beliefs, the named modalities are incorporated in the healing process. My focus I view the therapeutic relationship as a partnership that requires honesty, trust, integrity, respect, and mutual communication. I wholeheartedly believe the incorporative approach is embedded in a holistic stance by focusing on the whole person – emotional, physical, spiritual, mental, and behavioral. My intrinsic approach meets the client with empathy, care, concern, and supported hope to become a healthier person for self, others, and society at large. My communication style My aim is to create an environment that is conducive to open, honest clear communication as catalysts to effectively support and engage clients with a non-judgmental approach. I practice active listening and empathy to address and work through the presenting concerns. My journey to mental healthcare I am a licensed professional counselor in Georgia with over 18 years in the mental health field.
