Psychotherapist
CA
Hi there, I'm Anthony! Thank you for taking this first step. My name is Anthony Cavuoti, and my preferred name is Athena Theodora. Take a journey with me to explore what I have to offer you. Starting from your first session, we will develop a solid rapport that metaphorically is the salad tree trunk—made of neutral respect, trust, and the flexible strengths needed to meet challenges to develop strategies, self-regulation tools, insight, attitudes, motivation, curiosity, and the staying power to connect with yourself and others more fully so you can live a more satisfying life. I use proven, grounded, and established processes such as attachment theory, psychodynamic therapy, emotional cognitive behavior therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, and mindfulness. My approach I take your life, inner world, and suffering seriously. The answers to your questions come through this connection, listening, and being seen. Like dreams, they must be solidified, reflected upon, and shared before their wisdom can be fully understood and utilized. We take our discoveries of you and create a treatment plan together. My approach is eclectic, drawing from psychodynamic, attachment theory, cognitive behavioral, and dialectical behavioral therapy. My focus I work with clients—men, women, adults, teenagers, children, and couples—who are motivated to share their inner world freely. My clients are willing to face the challenges and frustrations of living a more authentic life, often requiring freeing oneself from relationships that once might have been primal but no longer serve their best interests. My communication style I like to see well-motivated clients, including individuals, couples, and children, who want to learn about themselves and the world and make changes to be more authentic. My journey to mental healthcare I earned my Bachelor’s degree from Boston College and my Master’s in Clinical Psychology from Antioch College.
