“Tony has been an excellent therapist for myself and my family. Since I first met with Tony a few years back with my wife and I, he has been a trusted advisor and voice of wisdom in our relationship. Tony listens attentively, walks me through how I’m feeling to get to the root cause, and allows me to go through the journey of understanding myself better. I have leaned on Tony for various aspects of my journey as a man, most recently becoming a father. Tony’s practical principles and advice allow me to be my full self and be a better man, father, and husband. Doing the difficult and necessary internal work has been a blessing to do with Tony in my corner. I highly recommend Tony to any man looking to learn more about themselves and seeking a voice of reason as they navigate the challenges of life.”

“I have been working with Tony for a few years and I am grateful to have him on my corner as my therapist. Since I first started sessions with Tony during a time when my wife and I needed joint advice and support to the time I individually sought Tony as I prepared for fatherhood, my experience has exceeded expectations. Tony is a top notch listener who gets to the root causes of what I share and provides timely and wisdom filled advice that prepares me to tackle life ahead. I have always felt respected and acknowledged by Tony. He shows genuine care and investment in my well-being. Every session I have with Tony, I come out renewed and refreshed, feeling empowered with practical tools and principles. I highly recommend Tony to anyone going through adulthood and figuring out how to live this life whether single, married, or as a faith sojourner in this life.”

Getting to know Anthony Lopez

I offer Christian counseling for men and couples, focusing on enhancing emotional intelligence, leadership, and communication through faith-based and practical strategies to help you gain confidence, clarity, and purpose. Sessions are $259 for individuals and $299 for couples (50 minutes, online only). Available Mon-Thurs 2-3 PM and Mon/Fri 8-11 AM. No insurance accepted. I am only accepting serious inquiries from those specifically seeking these services. If you're looking for general therapy or different approaches, there are plenty of other amazing therapists on ZocDoc who might be a better fit. As a mental health professional specializing exclusively in supporting men and couples, I focus on enhancing leadership, emotional intelligence, and spiritual resilience. Drawing from a foundation of Christian values and real-world experience, I provide actionable guidance for high-achieving men looking to lead with purpose and integrity. Having worked with clients from various backgrounds, including executives from Fortune 500 companies, I understand the unique pressures that leaders face. This experience enables me to deliver a personalized approach that addresses both professional demands and personal values, helping clients align their ambitions with a strong sense of faith. I hold advanced degrees from City University of New York, John Jay College, including a Master's in Forensic Mental Health Counseling and a Master's in Forensic Psychology; from Liberty University, a Master's in Religious Studies and an EdS in Educational Leadership. Despite these academic credentials, my approach is rooted in real-life insights, which I bring to every session. Whether you're seeking leadership development, emotional growth, or Christian counseling, I offer a supportive, nonjudgmental space to explore challenges and reach your goals. My aim is to empower men to lead with clarity, emotional awareness, and a deeper connection to their beliefs and relationships.

What should a new client know about working with you?

When working with me, you can expect a tailored, down-to-earth approach that focuses on your unique challenges, goals, and personal values. I specialize in helping high-achieving men enhance their emotional intelligence, leadership skills, and communication. Whether you're navigating personal growth, professional development, or seeking Christian counseling, our work will be practical, goal-oriented, and respectful of your individual worldview. I blend psychology with real-life experience and Christian values (for those who seek a faith-based approach). I’ve had the privilege of working with Fortune 500 clients, guiding them through leadership development, personal growth, and aligning their goals with their core values. I take a nonjudgmental stance and will meet you where you are in your journey—whether you're looking to lead with more confidence, improve relationships, or deepen your spiritual life. While our sessions will often touch on serious topics, I believe therapy doesn’t always have to be heavy. Many of my clients tell me they enjoy our time together and find me funny, despite the deep conversations we have. My goal is to create a comfortable, engaging environment where you can be yourself, laugh when needed, and leave feeling both lighter and more empowered. Our sessions will focus on practical strategies you can apply in your daily life. I value honest conversations, personal accountability, and long-term growth. You might receive "homework" to reinforce the work we do in sessions, as I believe that real progress happens when we apply insights beyond the therapy room. I also respect your time and will ensure that each session is focused, purposeful, and aligned with your goals. I value your comfort and aim to create a safe, respectful environment for open dialogue. Whether you're seeking help in leadership, personal relationships, or spiritual growth, I offer a balanced approach that considers both your emotional well-being and practical goals.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

My process is built on creating a customized, practical approach that focuses on your specific goals, whether personal growth, leadership development, or Christian counseling. We begin with an initial consultation, where I take time to understand your challenges, values, and what you hope to achieve. This first session is about building trust and ensuring that we’re a good fit. I prioritize making you feel comfortable and heard, and many clients mention they appreciate the relaxed, conversational tone of our sessions—even when discussing serious topics. After the consultation, we move into the assessment and goal-setting phase. Here, I dive deeper into your emotional, psychological, and spiritual landscape (if applicable). For leadership clients, this might include structured assessments to evaluate emotional intelligence and communication skills. Together, we define clear, actionable goals that will guide our work. I also believe in the power of practical tools, so you can expect some “homework”—small tasks or exercises that help apply what we discuss in sessions to your everyday life. Once we’ve set goals, we start the core work. My approach combines cognitive-behavioral techniques (CBT) with emotional intelligence training and, if desired, Christian values. We explore how your thoughts, behaviors, and emotions are interconnected, working to shift any patterns that may be holding you back. For clients in leadership roles, I focus on enhancing emotional intelligence, helping you lead with greater empathy, communication, and self-awareness. Overall, my process is collaborative and flexible, aimed at supporting you in a nonjudgmental, down-to-earth environment. While our sessions address serious matters, I believe therapy can also be enjoyable, and clients often find our time together both uplifting and insightful.

Tony has been a terrific resource to my husband and I. We've worked with him for almost a decade and he's helped us through several challenging seasons in our lives. He truly cares for people and makes himself available when needed. He is practical, non-judgmental, and has helped us grow significantly both personally and relationally.
My husband and I have been working with Tony for nearly a decade. He has been a terrific resource, coaching us through many seasons of challenges in our lives. He truly cares for people and makes himself available to support in times of need. He is practical, non-judgmental, and has helped us immensely grow personally and in our relationship.
Tony changed my life. If you're looking for a therapist who is empathetic but firm, I can't think of anyone better. The path to healing with Tony literally started with me coming to him saying I was broken. 1.5 years later I feel whole again.
Grateful for his counseling. He was caring and professional and helped me when I was in a transitioning period. He was able to keep me focused during our time and helped me in my healing journey.
I highly recommend Tony. He is an incredible helpful and thoughtful counselor who genuinely cares for the wellbeing of his patients. I have personally been helped by his wisdom and insight.
Tony has walked with me through some really difficult times. He is knowledgeable, multifaceted in skill, but more importantly kind, patient, encouraging, gentle, and inspiring. His passion is really in this. He loves people. Choosing to meet with and trust a counselor can be very difficult. If there is any consideration, I highly recommend Tony.
Tony was my first therapist and I was nervous because I’d heard so many horror stories about if you get a bad therapist. Thankfully he was my first and only because of how great he was. He taught me how to understand myself better, and guided me towards healing. Tony changed my life and he can change yours too.
I've been seeing Tony for a couple years now and would recommend his services without reservation. Tony is really dynamic as a mental health counselor. He has a way of asking questions and getting to the heart of what is going on while making you feel heard and seen for what you're going through. He brings in a lot of different experiences to figure out how to best help you and is really impressive in how he can figure out how to maneuver on the fly in each session based on what you're dealing with to assess, analyze, recommend, educate, and bring in examples and analogies to help you truly understand what it is he's communicating.

I've been seeing Tony for therapy for many years now. He's well versed in both the scientific practices of psychotherapy and the spiritual side of counseling from a Christian perspective. Either way, he provides many practical ways to help. He truly cares about you as a patient and it shows. I could probably sit here for hours writing more about all the ways he has helped me through out the years but I'll just say that I highly, highly recommend him as a professional mental health counselor! 10/10.
