Hi there! My name is Anthony Thomason. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in Georgia and have been practicing for over 10 years. My approach I work primarily from a psychodynamic/psychoanalytic approach that is interested in uncovering root causes of problems, whether they be inter- or intrapersonal. Additionally, if desired, I can also work from a Christian perspective. My focus My focus areas are depression and anxiety, with additional focuses on grief and addiction. My communication style Clients can expect me to be honest, transparent, and to truly pay attention to them. My journey to mental healthcare While I started as a Computer Science major in college, I took a psychology class that completely changed the course of my life. I fell in love with wanting to know more about the mind and why we do what we do. Exploring the human experience and being able to help others both explore and heal is a true honor for me to be a part of. In addition to psychotherapy, I am also an educator. Since education means a lot to me, I am a perpetual student and have obtained the following degrees: - B.A., Psychology and Philosophy, University of West Georgia - B.A., English Literature - M.A., Philosophical Psychology - M.A., Secondary Education - M.A., Psychology, University of West Georgia Also, I am currently a Doctoral Candidate in Curriculum and Cultural Studies. My goals for you I approach goal setting collaboratively with my clients.
