Getting to know Antonio Resendiz

I am a LMFT with a plethora of experience in both crisis programs as well as long-term individual therapy which provides me with a unique set of skills that allow for both the cessation of current struggles as well as the long-term causes and understandings of what led to the current situation. I have experience working with clients of all ages but specialize in those between the ages of 18-35 with severe mental illness ranging from anxiety and depression to any of the psychotic disorders

What should a new client know about working with you?

My approach to therapy focuses on meeting clients where they are in the stages of change model with an overall focus on empowering them to create the changes they wish to see. I focus sessions on independence and individuality of care with clients eventually taking the skills gained to then use in everyday settings. My focus is on being present and supportive on the current challenges, finding short-term solutions, and building skills for long-term gains.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

The first session will focus on building rapport and getting to know a bit of each other. Upon completion of the initial assessment, we will create a short-term treatment plan that is used as a launch pad for what may be causing the reason for services and build the skills and structures that will be of support to the clients
