Psychotherapist
FL
I am a trauma-informed therapist who works with children, teens, and adults experiencing anxiety, trauma, abuse, ADHD, relationship stress, and emotional overwhelm. Many of the individuals I support feel stuck in survival mode—highly functional on the outside while feeling anxious, exhausted, or emotionally overloaded inside. My goal is to provide a safe, respectful, and nonjudgmental space where healing and growth can take place. My approach is evidence-based, skills-focused, and holistic. I integrate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, trauma-informed care, and nervous system regulation strategies to help clients better understand their emotional responses, identify unhelpful patterns, and build practical tools for daily life. Therapy is collaborative and tailored to each person’s needs, strengths, and goals. With children and teens, I focus on emotional regulation, self-expression, confidence, and improved functioning at home and school, while collaborating with caregivers when appropriate. With adults, therapy often includes processing trauma, managing anxiety or emotional intensity, improving relationships, and reconnecting with a sense of purpose and self-trust. I believe therapy should be both compassionate and practical. Sessions are designed to provide insight as well as tools clients can apply outside the therapy room. I value cultural sensitivity, professionalism, and ongoing growth, and I am committed to supporting clients as they move from survival toward stability, resilience, and a more meaningful, balanced life.

What should a new client know about working with you?

Clients often describe my style as warm, supportive, and structured. I aim to create a safe, nonjudgmental space where you can feel heard while also working toward meaningful change. Therapy with me is collaborative—we move at a pace that feels respectful of your experiences and goals. My approach is trauma-informed and evidence-based. I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy alongside mindfulness and nervous system regulation strategies to help you understand patterns, manage emotional overwhelm, and build practical skills you can use in daily life. Sessions are focused and purposeful, and you can expect to leave with insight and tools, not just conversation. I value clarity and transparency. During our work together, I will explain the therapeutic process, check in regularly about what is and is not helpful, and adjust our approach as needed. For children and teens, I use developmentally appropriate methods and may involve caregivers when appropriate to support progress outside of sessions. Above all, I believe therapy should feel supportive, empowering, and respectful. My goal is to help you move from survival mode toward greater stability, self-understanding, and a more balanced, fulfilling life.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

My work begins with an initial session focused on understanding your concerns, history, and goals. We take time to discuss what brings you to therapy, identify patterns that may be contributing to distress, and establish a sense of safety and collaboration. Together, we clarify priorities and create a treatment plan tailored to your needs. Ongoing sessions are structured yet flexible. We typically check in on current symptoms, stressors, and progress, then focus on specific themes such as emotional regulation, thought patterns, trauma responses, or relationship challenges. I use evidence-based approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, along with trauma-informed and nervous system regulation strategies to support insight and skill-building. Sessions are active and practical. In addition to discussion, we may practice coping strategies, grounding techniques, or communication skills that can be applied outside of therapy. I regularly check in about what feels helpful and adjust the pace and focus as needed. For children and teens, sessions are developmentally appropriate and may include creative or skills-based activities. When appropriate, I collaborate with caregivers to help reinforce progress between sessions. Overall, therapy is collaborative and goal-oriented, with an emphasis on building stability, understanding patterns, and developing tools that support long-term growth and emotional well-being.
