Psychotherapist
NY
Hi, I'm Ariana Sottile, LCSW, founder of AJS Psychotherapy, PLLC. I provide virtual therapy for adults throughout Connecticut, New York, and New Jersey who are struggling with anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, life transitions, self-esteem concerns, and chronic stress. Many of my clients are high-functioning adults who appear successful on the outside but feel overwhelmed internally. They may find themselves constantly overthinking, worrying about the future, struggling to set boundaries, feeling stuck in unhelpful patterns, or carrying the weight of trying to hold everything together on their own. My approach is warm, collaborative, and personalized. I believe therapy should be a space where you feel genuinely heard, understood, and supported while also gaining practical tools to help you navigate life's challenges. Together, we'll work to better understand what's contributing to your distress, develop healthier coping strategies, strengthen your relationships, and help you move toward a more balanced and fulfilling life. I draw from evidence-based approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and mindfulness-based techniques, tailoring treatment to your unique needs and goals. Seeking support can feel intimidating, but you don't have to face life's challenges alone. Whether you're navigating anxiety, depression, a difficult transition, or simply feeling stuck, I'm here to help you take the next step toward meaningful change. AJS Psychotherapy, PLLC is an out-of-network practice and does not accept insurance.

What should a new client know about working with you?

Clients often tell me they appreciate having a space where they don't have to hold everything together or figure things out alone. My goal is to create a supportive, nonjudgmental environment where you feel comfortable being yourself and talking openly about what's on your mind. I take a collaborative approach to therapy, which means we'll work together to better understand the challenges you're facing and identify practical strategies to help you move forward. I tailor treatment to your unique needs, drawing from evidence-based approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), psychodynamic therapy, and mindfulness-based techniques. Whether you're struggling with anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, self-esteem concerns, stress, or a major life transition, therapy can help you gain insight, develop healthier coping skills, and create meaningful change. You can expect sessions that are compassionate, supportive, and focused on helping you build a life that feels more manageable, balanced, and fulfilling. AJS Psychotherapy, PLLC is an out-of-network practice and does not accept insurance.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Starting therapy can feel overwhelming, especially if it's your first time. My goal is to make the process feel comfortable, supportive, and tailored to your needs. In our first session, we'll discuss what brought you to therapy, the challenges you're currently facing, and what you'd like to get out of our work together. You'll have the opportunity to share your story at your own pace, ask questions, and determine whether we're a good fit. There is no pressure to have everything figured out before you begin. As therapy progresses, we'll work collaboratively to identify patterns that may be contributing to stress, anxiety, difficult emotions, or relationship challenges. We'll explore practical tools and strategies while also gaining deeper insight into your thoughts, feelings, and experiences. My approach is personalized because I recognize that no two people are exactly alike. Throughout the process, you'll have a dedicated space to be heard, supported, challenged when appropriate, and encouraged as you work toward your goals. Together, we'll focus on helping you build healthier coping skills, strengthen your confidence, improve your relationships, and create meaningful, lasting change. AJS Psychotherapy, PLLC is an out-of-network practice and does not accept insurance.

More information on payments and coverage

AJS Psychotherapy is an out-of-network practice, which means sessions are self-pay at the time of service. Payment is collected prior to each session using a debit or credit card on file. While I am not in-network with insurance providers, many clients are able to receive partial reimbursement through their out-of-network benefits. I provide a superbill that includes the information needed for you to submit to your insurance company. Reimbursement varies depending on your individual plan, and I recommend checking with your insurance provider to understand your specific out-of-network coverage. Some clients also prefer out-of-network care for the added privacy, flexibility, and ability to choose a therapist who best fits their needs rather than being limited by insurance networks. If you have any questions about fees or the reimbursement process, I’m happy to discuss them so you feel fully informed before beginning therapy.
