My name is Ariel Wilcoxen. I am a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) based in Southern California, working with clients statewide via telehealth. I work with adults, couples, families, and adolescents, specializing in anxiety, depression, stress, and trauma. My theoretical orientation includes rational emotive behavior therapy (REBT), Adlerian, and Transactional Analysis. I also have experience with cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and reality therapy to guide clients toward healing and achieving their personal goals. I earned my Master's in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Walden University and hold a Bachelor's degree from California State University, San Bernardino. My approach to therapy varies based on each client's needs. I most frequently apply interventions from, but am not limited to, REBT, Adlerian, and Transactional Analysis. These approaches help me understand clients from psychological, behavioral, and social perspectives. They also assist clients in developing insights, self-awareness, and effective coping strategies. Over the years, I have found that my style and approach are a good fit for adults, young adults, couples, and adolescents facing life's obstacles and social pressures. These challenges often present as anxiety, depression, stress, and trauma. Throughout the therapeutic process, I support clients in navigating each phase of treatment, helping them develop new insights, self-awareness, and coping skills. These tools empower clients to manage their lives and social pressures with renewed confidence and inner strength. My communication style is tranquil, understanding, and non-judgmental. I strive to create a secure, safe space where clients feel confident sharing their thoughts, feelings, and concerns related to their treatment. My journey to becoming a therapist began when I was in high school.
