Hi there, I'm Arlene! Hello, my name is Arlene Drake. I am a licensed marriage and family therapist with 40 years of experience. I hold a Master's in Psychology and a Bachelor's degree, both from Antioch University - Los Angeles. My main focus is treating adults with PTSD and CPTSD. I address the effects these conditions have had on your life and help you heal and change that. My style is active, interactive, and solution-oriented. I graduate my clients! My approach My approach to therapy is compassionate, goal-oriented, solution-focused, and client-empowering. I focus on inner child work to get to the root of your problems and move beyond them. The approaches I incorporate in my therapy include Psychodynamic, Integrative, Client-Centered, and CBT. My focus I work with adults who have experienced childhood trauma and/or abuse. I help them overcome the effects of that abuse and lead the life they deserve. In other words, I help clients "own their life and be free of their past." Some issues stemming from that abuse include relationship problems, anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, and more. My communication style I create a safe, compassionate, non-judgmental space for my clients and serve as their advocate. I am clear, straightforward, and honest. I won't just say ?uh-huh.? I truly hear my clients and help guide them to their destination of wholeness. My journey to mental healthcare My own journey in therapy showed me how it can help change, grow, and create a better, more fulfilling life.
