“I don't thing I've ever matched so well with a therapist on the first try but I could tell from the first interaction Asha would be a great fit for me. I never feel any judgment or pressure to make a specific decision. She gives me perspective and I get to chose how I'd like to proceed. I've made some progress already since working with her in this last month. I”

Getting to know Asha Wilburn

Hello! My name is Asha Wilburn, and I am a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) based in Los Angeles, California, working with clients statewide via telehealth. I hold a Master’s degree in Clinical Forensic Psychology from the Chicago School of Professional Psychology. I believe in a collaborative, client-centered approach to therapy that allows clients to take an active role in their therapeutic journey. My communication style is calm, personable, and supportive. I aim to provide honest feedback and take pride in genuinely building rapport with my clients by offering a non-judgmental and safe space for them to process. My hope is to support you in understanding the root cause of whatever is causing distress and to explore useful strategies that will help you build your personal "toolbox," ultimately guiding you toward living a meaningful life.

What should a new client know about working with you?

In our first session, I want to get to know you! We will explore your experience with therapy, explore some of your interests along with likes/dislikes, discuss what you hope to get out of our sessions and create treatment goals. From there we will continue building the therapeutic alliance and working collaboratively towards your goals. I will always provide space for processing and questions, and will often provide small tasks outside of our sessions to strengthen skills learned in our sessions.

More information on payments and coverage

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.

she’s humorous, open minded and understands so deeply! never have felt judged never have felt bullied or gaslit. she doesn’t beat around the bush but instead encourages me put logic behind my emotions. i feel sessions are challenging when i open up more. she allows space for me to open up when i'm ready.
Asha is THE BEST!!!!
Asha is so great. I really enjoyed our sessions but I think I enjoyed them too much that I felt like I was talking to a friend. I'm moving towards a direction where I need some discipline in my unhealthy thought patterns and I wanted to try out talking to another therapist!
