Ashley Cain, LPC

Psychotherapist
TX
Hi there, I'm Ashley! As a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), I am trained in therapy models to help improve symptoms of trauma, awareness and enforcement of boundaries, anxiety, parenting struggles, behavioral issues, and suicidal ideation. I also offer play-based and activity therapy for children. My focus I work with clients who struggle with learning disabilities, anxiety, life transitions, trauma, and grief. My approach My approach is compassionate and responsive to your needs and goals. My communication style I spend a lot of time in the beginning listening to your goals and expectations for therapy. My goal is to establish rapport and give you a space to explore your thoughts and feelings. I have found that people make progress when they have a secure relationship to get feedback and explore past experiences and stressors. My journey to mental healthcare I have a background working with children and their parents in the school setting and in private practice. My work with children began in my graduate school training at the Dallas Children’s Advocacy Center where I utilized Trauma-Focused CBT with teens who were victims of sexual abuse. From there, I have worked in school and private practice. My goals for you Person-centered therapy helps clients work toward their goals by creating a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental environment where they can explore their thoughts, emotions, and experiences openly. Rather than directing the client toward a predetermined outcome, the therapist helps clients develop greater self-awareness and trust in themselves. Our first session The first session will look different than the rest. We will review medical and family history, current coping skills, and a treatment plan to move forward.
