Ashley Moody, MA, LMFT

Psychotherapist
CA
Hi, I’m Ashley K. Moody, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and founder of Hecate Healers. I specialize in couples and relational therapy for people who feel stuck in recurring conflict or relationship patterns they can’t seem to interrupt on their own. Many couples come to therapy because the same fight keeps happening. A conversation starts small but quickly escalates. One partner pursues while the other withdraws. Over time the pattern becomes so familiar that the relationship itself begins to feel like the problem. My work focuses on slowing that pattern down so both partners can see what is happening beneath the conflict and begin responding differently. I use a depth-oriented and relational approach informed by attachment theory, Internal Family Systems (IFS), psychodynamic psychology, and the Gottman Method for couples. Together, we explore the emotional triggers, attachment dynamics, and unconscious patterns shaping how people react in relationships. I also work with individuals who want to better understand their relational patterns, especially when a partner is not ready for couples therapy. I bring over 20 years of experience in healing and personal growth work and am currently completing a PhD in Depth Psychology at Meridian University.

What should a new client know about working with you?

Therapy with me is collaborative and grounded. You don’t need to arrive with everything figured out. I work best with people who are ready to slow down and look at the patterns shaping their reactions and relationships. Rather than focusing only on communication tips or surface solutions, we work to understand what is happening beneath the conflict. Clients often describe me as calm, direct, and deeply attentive. In session, I listen closely to what is happening between partners and help interrupt patterns in real time so couples can begin practicing new ways of responding to each other. For individuals, the work focuses on understanding attachment patterns, emotional triggers, and relational roles so you can respond differently in relationships.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

The first sessions focus on understanding what is happening in your relationship or life right now. With couples, we begin identifying the pattern driving conflict. As the pattern becomes clearer, we work to slow it down in real time so both partners can recognize their reactions and begin responding differently. With individuals, we explore attachment history, emotional triggers, and relational patterns that may be shaping how you show up in relationships. Over time, many clients experience greater clarity, steadiness, and the ability to stay present during difficult conversations rather than falling back into familiar reactions.
