Psychotherapist
GA
Hi there, I'm Ashley! I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor and school counselor who specializes in helping children and families navigate the experiences they don’t always have the words to explain—grief, family changes, big emotions, and difficult life experiences. My focus I work with children, adolescents, and young adults experiencing grief, anxiety, emotional and behavioral concerns, family changes, relationship challenges, self-esteem concerns, and life transitions. My goal is to provide a safe, supportive space where clients can process their experiences, recognize their strengths, develop healthy coping skills. My approach My approach to care is compassionate, collaborative, and strengths-based. I utilize evidence-based approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy to help clients understand the connection between their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors while identifying practical strategies and strengths. My communication style My communication style is warm, compassionate, and conversational. I prioritize active listening, empathy, and creating a judgment-free space where clients feel safe to express themselves, while using clear, age-appropriate language and practical guidance to support growth. My journey to mental healthcare After 11 years as a school counselor, my journey to becoming a provider grew from recognizing a need I could see but could not fully address within the boundaries of a school setting. Becoming a Licensed Professional Counselor allowed me to expand my ability to support children, adolescents, and young adults through life’s challenges. My goals for you I help clients reach their goals by working collaboratively to identify their strengths, clarify what they want to achieve, and develop practical, manageable steps toward change.
