Hi there, I'm Asres! Greetings, my name is Asres Orit Getanek. I have a master’s degree in Clinical Psychology from Roosevelt University and a bachelor’s degree from Chicago State University. I am currently a Licensed Professional Counselor in Georgia (LPC011128) and Alabama (LPC05012). I see adults of all ages with various diagnoses. My therapy approach is tailored to individuals' needs and presenting problems. Person-centered, Humanistic, and Cognitive Behavioral approaches appeal to me most when appropriate. My approach I consider myself Humanistic and tend to use Cognitive Behavioral Theory in most cases. I also apply other approaches such as DBT, as appropriate. Additionally, I take skills from different approaches as I see fit to meet the needs of my clients. My focus I have worked as a therapist for more than 10 years in different settings and with various populations. I have experience helping clients with stress and anxiety, relationship issues, motivation, self-esteem, adjustment issues, grief, and depression. My communication style I believe in treating everyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion. I am a multicultural person and curious about this wonderful world of ours. I believe each person has strengths. I help my clients see things from different perspectives to uncover or strengthen abilities, enabling them to live a quality and more fulfilling life. My journey to mental healthcare I am curious and compassionate. I came across this field while volunteering as a teen to assist other teens who had dropped out of high school and faced behavioral difficulties. I have been in the field even before I attended college. Working in a field that fits my personality makes it enjoyable and fulfilling. My goals for you Goals are important in therapy as in life. Goal setting is a cooperative process between my clients and me. I will tailor our dialogue and treatment plan to meet each client’s unique and specific needs.
