For my graduate education, I attended Roosevelt University, where I earned my Master's degree in Clinical Psychology. I completed my Bachelor of Science degree at Loyola University Chicago, majoring in Psychology with a minor in Sociology. I have worked in a therapeutic day school as well as in clinic-based settings and volunteered in a substance-abuse prevention program for adolescents. My experience includes treating a variety of mental health diagnoses, primarily with children, adolescents, and young adults. Exploring one's mental health is important and fundamental to living a balanced life. I believe in creating a compassionate and trusting environment for my clients to share their thoughts, which promotes a safe space for exploring life's challenges. Developing a strong rapport with my clients helps guide them to discover their own distinct coping skills. I am passionate about supporting clients' personal growth so they can feel fulfilled in their daily lives. My counseling approach uses an integrative array of therapeutic techniques tailored to each individual's unique needs. This includes person-centered therapy combined with cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), as well as mindfulness strategies, acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), and solution-focused techniques. Outside of therapy, I enjoy playing the piano, singing, and spending time with my dogs. I believe self-care is essential to harmonizing work/life balance, so I also enjoy quality time with my family and attending yoga classes.
