Audra Lee, LMFT

Psychotherapist
DC
I am the founder of Alloy Wellness, a company dedicated to providing a hub for people to discover how to grow mentally, emotionally, and relationally. With more than a decade of experience as a licensed marriage and family therapist, and a Master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Seton Hill University, I have honed my skills as a wellness expert, therapist, and executive coach. Today, I work with entrepreneurs, thought leaders, and CEOs to provide them with the tools and guidance needed to be holistically successful, leading balanced, healthier, and more effective lives. My ?inside out? approach emphasizes the importance of investing in my own healing while assisting others. With this in mind, I have made it my driving force to use my own life as a guiding light and real-life example of the benefits of introspection work.

What should a new client know about working with you?

Working with me is an opportunity to really get clear about your overall life goals and take a more introspective look at what may be hindering you from achieving your goals. Through my work with thousands of client's, one of the common barriers that I've seen with just about everyone I work with is the mental limitations that act as a self sabotaging agent to prevent people from getting the things they are wanting out of life. These agents at one point served us very well. Now they don't. I work with people to unlock these barriers and road blocks so they can continue to work in alignment with themselves rather than in opposition. This work requires a level of accountability and agency from anyone that chooses to work with me as well as from myself. The benefits I've seen from my clients include but are not limited to: Substantial decreases in symptoms of depression, anxiety, mania, mood swings, feelings of longing & loneliness as well as a substantial increase in confidence, autonomy, feelings of joy and emotional intelligence. My client's walk away reporting feeling more confident and self assured as well as much more effective in their relationships. This contributes to people having less tension and more long lasting, satisfying relationships, as well as success and ease within their career and professional goals.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

I am all about flow. I really really enjoy the work that I do so I bring my full self to our interactions. Our first session is really an opportunity for us to get to know one another and assess "good fit". I ask a lot of informal assessment questions to get an understanding of how I can be helpful to you. I also am assessing potential "blind spots" which are things that we as humans can't always see about ourselves. These things come out in our body language, the wording we choose to use, the facial expressions we make, the inflection in our voices, our eye contact or lack there of, as well as the things we choose to omit. I am pretty direct in my approach in that, I will share with you the things I'm noticing and how I see I can be helpful to you. I also will share any pertinent information about myself and the way I practice. By the end of the first session, we will have an idea of good fit and will develop an informal plan about how to move forward with treatment. This is also a point in which you can ask me any questions that you may want to know that I haven't covered.
