Getting to know Ayana L. Paxton

Hello, I’m Ayana. Do you find life challenging? Are you struggling with an issue or relationship and feel stuck? Do you want to talk to someone but are afraid to reach out for help? I empower high-functioning women and men to overcome and manage unbearable anxiety and symptoms of depression. I use a holistic approach to address the needs of the body, mind, and spirit. I also offer a safe, warm, nonjudgmental, and empathetic environment to share your thoughts and experiences. I work collaboratively with each client to help accomplish their personal goals for therapy. Using evidence-based therapies such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy has proven effective in recognizing one’s own dysfunctional patterns and learning how to overcome the hangups and habits that have held them back. I hold a Master’s in Social Work from San Jose State University, which has equipped me with the knowledge and skills to support you on your journey toward healing and growth.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I hope that client will take away a sense of hope and clarity by working with me on their goals. During the first few session we will focus on naming the problem and being able to recognize he goals (what signs might show that we are nearing the end of therapy for now?).

More information on payments and coverage

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.

Great listener, challenges me to improve through helping me identify where I can improve myself. She is authentic and approachable with all of my deepest issues. Very helpful to my life and I'm grateful.
Although there were several other attributes that stand out and describe Ms Paxton, the two that outweighed the others are authenticity and empowerment, which has been displayed from day one. She is very real and direct that truly comes from a place of genuine compassion and concern. She has helped me recognize my worth and reminds me of how deserving I am of experiencing joy and peace and to also feel okay to make decisions in life based on how they effect me directly rather than based on what’s best for others.
Ayana gives me the Strength too keep going Strong
I absolutely LOVE Ayana. She’s made me see light at the end of my tunnel. She’s warm, doesn’t seek judgement, authentic. I have really implemented her thoughts and insights on my life situations. I have really altered my way of reacting into positive solutions
