Psychotherapist
GA
I'm Ayana Lewis, a licensed clinical therapist in Georgia and Texas. I work well with individuals seeking to develop skills to better manage anxiety and depression. I also help many navigate their relationships with others while working on their own self-concept-how they see themselves and the world around them. My approach Often, we focus on past life experiences or feel anxious about the future; therefore, I use a combination approach that includes mindfulness (being present) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (how thoughts influence behaviors). These techniques help with grounding and appreciating the present moment while identifying belief patterns that may be hindrances. I believe in helping clients find feasible solutions to their perceived problems, so I also utilize a solution-focused approach to therapy. My focus I work well with clients experiencing low self-esteem and self-worth. I help clients recognize their value and how they present themselves to the world around them. Additionally, I assist those navigating life transitions, including relationships, work, or family matters. My communication style I strive to foster a relaxed environment where clients feel as though we are having a normal conversation and do not feel anxious about the therapeutic experience. My journey to therapy I have always had a desire to help others, which led me down the path of becoming a Social Worker. I earned my Master's in Social Work from the University of Georgia and have worked with many populations throughout my 17 years as a Social Worker. I became a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in 2014 and began offering a more therapeutic approach to clients within the healthcare system. I chose to work as a therapist because I wanted to better understand people's thought processes and help them become the best version of themselves.
